Bethanyology » theideadoor http://www.bethanyjensen.com Or "Try, Try Again" Sun, 29 Jan 2012 16:51:38 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.3.1 Popsicle Stick People Choosers http://www.bethanyjensen.com/2007/10/24/popsicle-stick-people-choosers/ http://www.bethanyjensen.com/2007/10/24/popsicle-stick-people-choosers/#comments Wed, 24 Oct 2007 15:12:16 +0000 Bethany http://www.bethanyjensen.com/index.php/2007/10/24/popsicle-stick-people-choosers/ I made some low-tech tools today for Primary in the shape of popsicle sticks with names on them.  The idea is to reduce repeatedly choosing the same children as "helpers" in Primary and ignoring the quiet ones by writing the name of each child in Primary on a seperate popsicle stick, then coloring one end with a marker.  I'll put the sticks colored-end up in a cup, then choose children from the cup.  Each time I pick one, I'll turn it over and replace it in the cup colored-side down so I know I've used it.  Once I've picked all the colored sides, I start over choosing uncolored sticks, then start the process again. 

I found a variation of the idea on www.theideadoor.com once upon a time.  Pretty cool, huh?

I think my favorite is the "Music Measles" idea that I may try this week.  You put red stickers on the music leader and the presidency, then tell the kids you have the "music measles" and that it's very contagious.  Then you start singing the songs and as you see kids sing you take stickers off the adults and put them on the kids and at the end you see who got the most measles.

There are also ideas on the site for Nursery music and for other organizations in the Church.
