I thought it would be fun to archive a “typical” school day for an afternoon Kindergarten mom. Of course, this is only week three of Kindergarten, so I may not know what a normal day is like yet. Here’s what I got so far: 6am Exercise (I’m trying to make this typical, anyway) 7am Get [...]

Playgroup at the Pool
Posted in Kids on Jul 11th, 2008
I don’t actually know if “playgroup” is supposed to be one word or two. So, I’ll just switch off as the mood strikes me. It’ll keep things exciting. Anyone know the official word on the correct way to write it? Yesterday afternoonwe went to a play group organized by some ladies in my new ward. [...]
Maggie Golf
Posted in Kids on Jul 10th, 2008
Image via Wikipedia Degen and his Grandpa have made a regular thing of having golf lessons outside in the yard. Naturally, Maggie wants to do whatever Degen does and begged me one day to go outside with them and play golf (pronounced more like “gofe”). I thought it might be fun for her, so I [...]
Golfing with Grandpa
Posted in Kids on Jun 25th, 2008
Grandpa, an expert golfer, gave Degen his first golf lesson this morning outside at his miniature driving range. Every time one of the balls would make it to the net (even after many swings on its way there), Degen would yell “I WIN!” We are really enjoying spending more time with Grandpa!
Morning Sickness

Now we know a possible reason for my weight plateau. Yes, I am pregnant! I found out and we announced it to the family on Saturday. I’m only six weeks along, and it’s “traditional” to wait to tell everyone until you hit 12 weeks or so, but I’m not good at keeping secrets about myself. [...]
Diaper Drama
Posted in Kids on May 23rd, 2008
Like many mothers, I allow my children to run around the house in nothing but a diaper some of the time. After this week’s events, this practice must end, at least temporarily. I’ve mentioned before that Maggie had taken to removing her wet diapers whenever she’s in her crib. Well, her practice of taking off [...]
We got back yesterday from our trip to DC for my sister’s graduation and boy am I tired! It’s taken me about 2 hours to get through my email, and I have only listened to 4 of my 15 voicemails. Know, for your own future reference, that I’m a notoriously bad voicemail checker. But it [...]
Image by hint of plum via Flickr To all of you moms out there, happy Mother’s Day! My mother is definitely one of the best mothers ever, and I dare anyone to try to top her efforts or results. Really, try it, you’ll be happier for it. My mom is a great teacher and [...]
Image via Wikipedia This morning I took two kids to the doctor with me so I could get a physical. It was an adventure! It was the first normal, healthy, no babies, regular doctor (not an OB) physical I’ve had in I don’t know how long. The doctor (someone I’d never seen before) seemed a [...]
When my mother found out Maggie and I were going to be at our “family reunion” in DC, she said she wanted to pay to bring Degen and Colin. So she bought them tickets and we’re all going to Washington, DC, for the graduation. Yay! The catch is that Colin can’t come as early as [...]
