Nutritiondata.com

My favorite site of the day is nutritiondata.com. As you know, I’m counting carbohydrates right now with my current health goals, and sometimes that gets complicated. For example, I’m planning to make myself a burrito for lunch. There are a bunch of ingredients in a burrito, and some of them don’t have nutritional labels (a trend among the healthiest of foods) to tell me how many grams of carbs they contain, nor how much fiber. So, you can put your recipe into nutritiondata.com’s calculator and it creates a nutrition label for you. It has neat charts and graphs about your recipe, too, like how nutritious it is compared to how filling it is. It calculates the “glycemic load” and how “inflamatory” the ingredients are (don’t ask me what that means…). And you can save it all by registering with the site free of charge. Isn’t that just lovely?
