Tonight was a really fast Family Home Evening on General Conference. We sang “I am a Child of God” (which Degen is starting to be able to sing along to), had a prayer, and then a quick lesson. We told the kids that General Conference is on Saturday and Sunday and that we get to listen to the prophet speak to us. Colin taught both Maggie and Degen to say “President Monson” as well as their little tongues could manage. Then we told them that the prophet tells us what Heavenly Father wants us to know. Colin explained that we can each get revelation for ourselves, that parents can get revelation for their children, that the bishop can get revelation for his congregation, and that the prophet gets revelation for all of us. Then we had a closing prayer and put the kids to bed.
