Thhis is Colin. I’m writing because it’s Sunday morning my eyes are a bit fuzzy and I’m realizing looking at the computer how easy it is to accomplish a stereogram effect with the icons on the screen. I’m actually typing wihtout looking at the screen and at a weird angle so forgive the unpolished tone… I’m completely and blindly horizontal and if I even sit up let alone get up the kids will notice. Okay so stereograms were those posters at the mall–where it looked like static but when you crossed your eyes slightly you’d see a picture in 3D. They were really neat and one of those things I wonder why they haven’t become a standard trick of computers… Sorry by that I mean I’d assume by now a lot of people would have free little programs that generated these stereograms and kids would be using htem constantly to give 6th grade secret messages to each other… So this morning i was staring at tmy screen crossing my eyes slightly and realized that due to the vertical repetition of the icon grid on the deskto por in any folder you can cross your eyes over two icons that are identitcal betweentwo columns and the icons will pop out in 3D. It’s true try it. Minimize this window look at two icons on the desktop or in any folder cross your eyes slightly until one icon matches exactly over the icon to its right or left then hold it there for a moment while your brain re-zeroes itself and you’ll see.
