Christmas Traditions Part 1

I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but I like to have a long Christmas season, and I've already talked about Thanksgiving a lot.  Plus, we're going to someone else's house for Thanksgiving this year, where it looks like for the first time ever Christmas is going to be at our house.  That means we [...]

Thanksgiving Story Time

This morning, now that we're all feeling much better, I took the kids to the library for story time.  Miss Becky read several very cute Thanksgiving picture books, including one called The Ugly Pumpkin that had a surprise ending.  She read another fun, but perhaps overly PC, book called One Little, Two Little, Three Little Pilgrims about the [...]

Places to find NLR, AR rentals

This morning I've been looking online for houses to rent in the North Little Rock/Sherwood/Jacksonville, Arkansas area.  I've done this in the past with very little luck.  Craigslist really isn't much help (yet) in Arkansas.  Here are a couple of sites that have been somewhat helpful:

The Church handbooks encourage us to have agendas for our meetings to make them more efficient and to help us to prepare.  There is a really basic outline of an agenda for any meeting in the handbooks, but I haven't found anything specific to presidency meetings or to Primary, so I've made a working draft [...]

Thanksgiving FHE Ideas

I'm thinking about practically free things we can do on Monday for Family Home Evening that have to do with Thanksgiving since that holiday is next week, though I can hardly believe it's so soon.
I wrote a seperate post here with a list of appropriate LDS music I could use and which are my [...]

Songs for Thanksgiving

Here are some ideas for songs that would be appropriate to sing at a Thanksgiving gathering or for a Thanksgiving FHE.  My favorites are Count Your Blessings, Prayer of Thanksgiving, For Health and Strength, and I Thank Thee Dear Father.
LDS Hymns (listen to the music, get sheet music, and read the lyrics here: http://www.lds.org/cm/display/0,17631,4650-1,00.html):
