This morning, now that we're all feeling much better, I took the kids to the library for story time. Miss Becky read several very cute Thanksgiving picture books, including one called The Ugly Pumpkin that had a surprise ending. She read another fun, but perhaps overly PC, book called One Little, Two Little, Three Little Pilgrims about the first Thanksgiving that had great illustrations. She did a finger play with turkeys on a glove and counted down from five turkeys to none (they didn't want to be around for Thanksgiving, I guess) and then we recited a couple of nursery rhymes like Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater (a very good one for the season).
For a craft, we made turkeys with multi-colored feather tails. There were sticks glued to the turkeys for handles and even Maggie enjoyed carrying hers around the library afterwords showing everyone how great turkeys are. Thanks Miss Becky, we always enjoy your story times!
