Today I took the kids to Dr. Wilson, a pediatric dentist in North Little Rock. The office was designed for little ones with a big TV-watching area shaped like a train, a big fish tank, and video games. The staff was friendly and efficient and there were only a few papers to fill out. The hygienist was good at being friendly and patient with Degen and Maggie and even got Degen to open his mouth enough to clean his teeth partially. Dr. Wilson sat and talked with Degen before he tried to look at his teeth and explained what he was doing and noticing to me. No cavities for either baby! And we don't have to worry about Maggie's finger-sucking habit yet, but we may need to worry about Degen's teeth being a little crowded, but not until he's seven so it's no big deal yet.
I set up appointments for Colin with two endocrinologist/metabolism specialists. One of them has no open appointments until February–and he's only been practicing in the area for a year! The other one had an appointment next week and I took it. It took forever (literally hours) to get appointments with Colin's doctors, and I still have to get his medical records sent from the old doctors to the new ones. I even set up a checkup for myself with another doctor and they had an appointment coincidentally open this Wednesday (which they said never happens). So, we've just got to get Colin in for a dental appointment and the kids in with a pediatrician and we'll be good to go for another six months. Whew!
