I mentioned before that I'm the newly-called Primary President in our ward. I knew it would be a lot of work, but I'm just starting to get a taste of how much work it's really going to be. Everything from getting Primary staffed with teachers, to training the teachers, to planning activities and lessons myself. Not to mention getting to know the kids and attending meetings and keeping statistics and about a hundred other things. Wow. It's a good thing I have great counselors.
The work is a little overwhelming, but for the first time I'm really getting a sense of how critically important this program of the church is. I always believed the Primary was important, but I never realized how much support parents get from the Primary in teaching their children what the church is about, how to feel the Spirit, and that Jesus loves them personally. I love it and I'm grateful for the inspiration that began this organization.
